Cerasuolo di Vittoria is a red wine with an ancient and long tradition, which bases its identity on the marriage between the power of Nero d'Avola and the fragrance of Frappato. It is the first and only Sicilian DOCG. At Gulfi, the Stidda vineyard covers about 1 ha in Chiaramonte Gulfi, at an altitude of 420 m, facing west. The climate is Mediterranean, characterised by wide temperature ranges. The soil is clay and limestone.
Oenology
The grapes are usually harvested in the second half of September and are vinified in stainless steel tanks with a short maceration at controlled temperatures. The wine is bottled and marketed approximately one year after the harvest.
