Third wine of Château Calon Ségur. Thick layer of gravel deposited by the river in the quaternary period. The subsoil is predominantly clay of Tertiary age. At the top of the gravel deposits, there is also a thin layer of clay of lacustrine origin. Double Guyot. 8,000 vines per hectare. +/- 40 hectolitres per hectare.
Oenology
Manual harvesting. First control of the grapes on the vine. Vibrating de-stemmer and manual sorting table. Temperature-controlled stainless steel truncated cone vats. Vatting time of 18 to 21 days. Approximately 14 months in three-year-old barrels. Fining with egg white.
