Among Jean-Michel Novelle's great red wines, his Merlot is not well known, but it has everything to please! Picked when fully ripe and carefully aged without the use of wood, it has a rather fresh nose that is reminiscent of some of the great Pomerol classics, with its notes of violets and blackcurrants; it is a chiselled, crisp, northern wine, totally obvious!

Le Grand Clos is a family estate of 7 ha located in the commune of Satigny. The vineyard on the hillside is grassed over and maintained with the utmost rigour. A lot of work is done in the vineyard, which produces little but gives healthy and concentrated fruit. The grapes are harvested when they are fully ripe in terms of alcohol, phenolics and aroma.

Aged in stainless steel vats for up to 24 months. In some red vintages, malolactic fermentation is only partially carried out, or not at all, in order to preserve a maximum of freshness and purity of fruit.
