Savoie and Haute-Savoie region. Production area located within the municipalities of Corbonod and Seyssel in the department of Ain, Charpaillan-en-Isère, 29 municipalities in Savoie and 24 in Haute-Savoie. Classified as a regional AOC in 1973. White grape variety: Altesse or Roussette (unrelated to Roussanne). Vinified exclusively as a white wine. Area under production: nearly 150 hectares, including crus. Can be kept for 2 to 5 years. Ideal serving temperature: between 8 and 10°C. Pair with: grilled or sauced river fish, perch fillets meunière, for example. Roussette-de-Savoie followed by a cru name are AOCs particularly renowned for their quality: Production area: for the Frangy cru within the communes of Chaumont, Desingy and Frangy in the Haute-Savoie department; for the Marestel vintage, the municipalities of Jongieux and Lucey; for the Monterminod vintage, the municipality of Saint Alban-Leysse; for the Monthoux vintage, the municipality of Saint-Jean-de-Chevelu, all in the Savoie department.
