Definition: RD (Região demarcada)

In Portugal, for a wine produced in a wine-growing area that is difficult to define. Since joining the European Union, and in order to better comply with the standards of the main wine-producing countries, RDs have been transformed into DOCs (denominação de origem controlada) and IPRs (indicação de proveniência regulamentada).
