Definition: Mâché

Describes a tired, dull wine, a condition often seen after recent handling (filtering, bottling) or transport. This temporary condition should disappear after a few weeks' rest. A chewed wine is more affected than a simply tired wine, but less so than a stale wine, which has lost almost everything.
