Abbreviation: ha. Unit of area measurement corresponding to 100 ares (a) or 10,000 m2. In other words: 10,000 square metres, or, for example, a plot of land measuring 100 m by 100 m. In the USA, 1 ha = approx. 2.5 acres. In Vaud viticulture, 1 ha corresponds to 22.222 fossoriers.
