Definition: Chambrer

Bringing a bottle of wine to room temperature involves leaving it in a warm room for a few hours so that the wine is less cold and tastes better. Please note that our flats are now too well heated to bring wine to room temperature in the traditional way. Today, wine is considered to be at room temperature when it reaches 16°C, taking into account that it will warm up in the glass when tasted or consumed. See serving and tasting temperature.
