Definition: cava

In Spain, Cava is a designation of origin for wines produced using the traditional method, i.e. in the bottle that will reach the consumer's table (metodo tradicional in Spanish). The main Cava regions are located in Rioja, Navarre, the Spanish Basque Country, Penedès and Catalonia, mainly in the north of the country.
