Definition: cauhapé

The name of the famous Jurançon estate, pronounced "Cawapé", means "foot warmer" in the local dialect, probably because the numerous stones from the nearby Pyrenees that litter the estate's soil help to combat winter frosts by transferring the heat stored during the summer to the vine roots.
